Legal Advice to Parents Project

Legal Services of New Jersey is offering advice and referrals to parents who are involved in voluntary placement agreements with the Division of Youth and Family Services.

The project's goals are to inform parents of their legal rights regarding placement of their children, to advise them on how to revoke voluntary placement, to assist them in enhancing their visitation with their children while they are in placement, to make them aware of the time limits imposed by the Adoption and Safe Families Act that may jeopardize their ability to regain custody, and to provide them with additional resources.

Parents can access the project by calling the LAPP (Legal Advice to Parents Project) toll-free number, 1-888-989-5277.

Informational flyers are attached for your use, posting, and distribution as appropriate.
